mr. grimm has returned! for the first time in almost seven years, we have new music from the jungle knob twiddler in the form of this blistering & dissonant digital 12".

while his last release, 2013's "safety scissors", hinted towards an influence beyond video game soundtracks & the warp records roster, the "anxiety" 12" showcases them in full force. the opening track features refracted elements of acid house & detroit techno, while the following track feels like alec empire solving a math equation with footwork combos.

the b-side flips the script with a lopsided, hip-hop inspired piece that descends into noisy soundscapes before being brought to the homestretch by a hardcore techno track running at a brutal 220bpm, pushing the grooves to the absolute limits of danceability.

if these run-on sentences don't translate how uptempo and frantic this amalgam of jungle/footwork/techno/kitchen sink is, then take a listen for yourself. just make sure to stay hydrated.
